sprained my ankle badly few months ago.?

playing football about 4 months ago waited a week and stupidly started exercising again, made it worse, never went to a psysio aches now whenever i do exercise should i continue going to the gym (bike, rower, eliptical) not running and do ankle exercises if so which ? or should i stop all together and do ankle exercises till 100% but i feel it could take a long time. by the way i'm 17 if that matters
