Is rowing a good enough exercise on its own? what supplements should you take for your body to recover?

I have bought a concept 2 rower which i have been using about 5 times a week fir 2 weeks now and have noticed a massive improvent in weight loss and muscle tone, can anyone suggest the types of energy bars or supplements would be the best to take for this type of exercise and do you think that this exercis on its own is enough to tone up your whole body and improve muscle strength. i need something to take to aid my recovery as i find it difficult training 2 or 3 days on the trot as i am aching a bit and dont have as much energy
