To Rowers or Rowing Fans?

I need your help, any details/opinions would be helpful.

I'm in the process of developing a rowing trainer particularly for the purpose of improving a new or experienced rowers technique.

Currently some privileged clubs have access to a 'rowing tank' for this purpose which is seen on the link below. I am concentrating on producing a alternative for clubs which aren't so wealthy. The cheapest one of these for a club would set them back £75,000

I'm looking to have a similar proportioned arrangement that would be found in a 'sweep rowing' boat. Using a cylinder containing water for resistance for example, like the one on the link below (the rowing machine seen on this picture bares no resemblance, just the water cylinder).

The problem occurs in the 'feedback'. What instrument/guides or anything else useful do you think could provide the rower with quality feedback on his or her technique? Rowing tanks are used generally in conjunction with a coach, and to an extent this would be (as it is aimed at clubs). Though if there is potential to provide some sort of alternative 'guide' then i think it is worth developing the product.

Any ideas on this subject? Ideas on what you as a rower would like in terms of good feedback when training for technique?

Thanks
